Anxiety in children and teens often looks like irritability, physical complaints, or avoidance rather than obvious worry.

Reaching out is often the hardest part, so here’s the short version: send a message, and we’ll take it from there. Allen Psychology, LLC is located within Coherence Neuropsychology and Supports, in Rockville, Maryland. In-person appointments take place at the Rockville office, in a private clinical setting designed for both children and families, and the building offers free on-site parking, an accessible environment, and a café on the first floor. Whether you’re a parent considering an evaluation for the first time, a returning family scheduling a follow-up, or a referring professional with a specific clinical question, getting started looks the same for everyone: a short message describing your situation. You don’t need a separate process for different types of inquiries, and you don’t need every detail sorted out before reaching out. The team will ask follow-up questions as needed and figure out next steps together with you.

Telehealth

Dr. Allen is licensed to provide in-person care in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Florida, and Colorado, and offers telehealth services to patients in these jurisdictions. Depending on the type of service and your location, virtual appointments may provide a convenient alternative to in-person care, especially for therapy sessions, consultations, and feedback meetings. Some components of an evaluation, such as the clinical interview and feedback session, may also be conducted via telehealth, while standardized testing generally requires an in-person appointment.

Fees, Insurance & Good Faith Estimates

Allen Psychology is a self-pay practice. Services are not billed directly to insurance, but a superbill is provided after payment so you can seek out-of-network reimbursement if your plan offers it; whether your plan reimburses, and at what rate, depends on your specific coverage, so it’s worth calling your insurer before your first appointment to ask about out-of-network benefits. Payment is due at the time of service, and accepted methods include checks, credit cards, wire transfer, and HSA or FSA payment cards.

  • Comprehensive Neuropsychological Assessment: $4,500
  • Targeted Consultation: $2,500
  • Developmental Evaluation: $1,800 to $2,500
  • Follow-up Appointment (hourly rate): $250
  • Forensic Evaluations: by request

Therapy fees are provided at the time of inquiry, since session format and frequency vary by family.

Because the practice does not bill insurance, you have a right under federal law to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before your appointment, and one is provided before scheduling for all services. You can also ask for a Good Faith Estimate at any point, whether or not you have scheduled anything yet, and it’s worth keeping a copy for your records. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
